The Procedure of IVF Treatment

There are certain steps, followed for successful IVF treatment. Those are as follows-

Ovary Stimulation

Eight to fourteen days near to begin your menstrual cycle, you are given gonadotropin. This is kind of a drug that makes your ovaries stimulated to produce multiple eggs for fertilization. You are also given hormones, like leuprolide or cetrorelix, so that your body doesn’t release eggs early.

Follicle Development

While you are on this medication, you should visit your doctor’s chamber in every two to three days to check your blood hormone level and also you will go through ultrasound process for the measurement of your ovaries. Thus, the healthcare provider will monitor the growth of the follicles.

The Trigger Shot

Once your follicles are ready, you get an injection that will make the eggs mature completely, and they become able to get fertilized. After 36 hours, your eggs are ready to be retrieved.

Gather the Eggs

You will be given anaesthesia and the doctor will insert an ultrasound probe into your vagina to check if your follicles are ready. Then, a thin needle is inserted through the vaginal wall and eggs are removed from the follicles.

Fertilization

The eggs will be kept under observation overnight before combining it to your partner’s sperm. Normal eggs get fertilized this time.
After that, the developing process is started, and finally, the embryos are implanted in your uterus through a tube. You may feel a cramping, but it won’t trouble you.
