Most often people make the mistake of confusing fertility treatments with IVF which is in vitro fertilisation. In vitro fertilisation is just one of the fertility treatments. There are many other types of fertility treatments available. Technology has advanced to a great degree and now any kind of infertility can be handled with effective treatment. IVF can help people with a specific type of fertility problems. There are various other types which are used to treat patients to help them conceive a child. Basically, if anyone is having any kind of trouble getting pregnant, they should try out these fertility treatments. There are many categories in which they are divided. Some of them are:

·         Fertility Drugs- these drugs are administered to patients who mostly have hormonal problems. These drugs stimulate the reproductive organs to function properly and produce healthy eggs and sperms. But some of the drug might have some serious side effects, so talk to your doctor thoroughly about these side effects to try and avoid them and be able to better deal with them when required.

In this treatment, the sperm are washed, processed and concentrated before introducing them in the woman’s uterus artificially with the help of a syringe. It is also known as intrauterine insemination.

·         Surgery- surgery can help resolve many serious issues which might cause severe effects other than infertility. Fibroid, endometriosis, blocked fallopian tubes, etc. can be surgically treated to relive painful symptoms as well as cure infertility.


·         Assisted Reproductive Technology- these are the most technologically advanced fertility treatments available. They have produced many thousands of couples have babies who were once considered infertile. Some of the most common types of assisted reproductive technology are- IVF, IVF along with ICSI, IVF using egg donation, surrogacy etc.
