IVF And Abnormalities

IVF And Abnormalities

In vitro fertilisation can be an emotional rollercoaster for women. The regular cycles of stimulating hormones, painful injections and uncomfortable bloating causes a lot of metal strain. The wait for the genetic tests is even worse. If the tests show anything abnormal or if the embryos don’t get implanted or even after implantation they get miscarried the process starts all over again. At the beginning you might get really excited, but when something goes wrong in the process the depression you face can’t be compared.
When the IVF treatment doesn’t work, you have to do these things accordingly to try and conceive:
Run another cycle-If on the first time, you encountered some problem and weren’t able to conceive, you should try it one more time. The first time there might have been some minor error which resulted in the failed pregnancy. The second time might give you better odds of conceiving the child.
Modify the process-Ifyou didn’t conceive even on the second time, it might be better to make some changes in the procedure. New and better technology is available which gives better results. Instead of the high stimulation IVF you can try Natural IVF which has also been found to be much safer than the other types.
Egg donors- if nothing else gives a positive result, you might have to opt for egg donors. The eggs from the donor will be taken and fertilised and implanted in the patient’s womb.
The age of the woman plays a big role on the success of the process. As a woman ages the quality of her eggs start to declines. There is a high chance that the embryo produced by these eggs would turn out to have abnormal number of chromosomes which might cause developmental defects in the baby in the future.
